Michel Prokop

 

 

 

Michel Prokop is a native of Austria, with permanent residency in Germany. He has over twenty years of international experience in the hospitality industry in various senior management positions. He was educated and trained in Europe before moving overseas to gain further international experience.

 

Michel has held positions in New York, Munich, Cairo, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Peking and Johor Bahru. In 1997 Michel Prokop decided to return to his home country. He continued his career with the Hotel Intercontinental Frankfurt and the Crowne Plaza Hotel in Wiesbaden as General Manager.

 

During his international career Mr. Prokop held various senior management positions within Rooms Division and Food & Beverage, followed by senior executive assignments.

 

Mr. Prokop has specialized in hotel openings (pre- and post opening activities), repositioning of hotels, project development, concept planning, interim management, feasibility studies and market analysis.

 

Education:

 

Bachelors Degree in Tourism, Hotel & Tourist Management School, Schloss Klessheim, Salzburg (Austria).

Cornell University, Ithaca, New York, summer courses with emphasis on various hotel management aspects.

Holiday Inn University, General Manager Certification.

 

Personal:

 

Michel Prokop and his wife Carina have two children, Nico (15) and Timo (13). Both their sons were born in Hong Kong and are educated at the International School in Frankfurt. Mr. Prokop’s hobbies include Mesoamerican history and pre-Colombian cultures, tennis, golf and diving.
