David Hawley

 

David Hawley has over twenty five years experience in the hospitality industry, with more than fifteen years in hotel and resort operations, and ten years in hospitality marketing.  Hawley held management positions with Westin Hotels at the St. Francis Hotel in San Francisco, Washington Plaza Hotel in Seattle and the Ilikai Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii.  He was also responsible for sales and marketing at the Hawaiian Regent Hotel in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Hawley’s off-shore experience includes extensive Asian Tourism development, and in the Dominican Republic he was a U.S. market development specialist responsible for identifying and implementing off-shore charter and FIT package tours within the international wholesale and retail travel industry.    

Hawley is a turn around specialist for new and distressed properties having held marketing and management positions with Loews Hotels, Radisson Hotels and several independent four star properties.  He was responsible for turning a Radisson Hotel in Downtown Phoenix, Arizona out of bankruptcy and repositioning the independent 250- room Sunburst Resort property from a two star to a four star property.  Hawley has performed as marketing director for Registry Resorts, Paradise Valley Resort, and Orange Tree Golf & Conference Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona.  He successfully developed numerous nationally recognized direct and cooperative marketing programs for state and regional hospitality organizations, while serving as director of development for Destination Promotions, a prestigious hospitality marketing group in Phoenix.   

Hawley designs creative cost saving in-house advertising programs, promotional products, branding and unique awareness campaigns that consistently build retail and wholesale awareness. 

EDUCATION:

University of Denver, Colorado; Certified Hotel Administrator; Guest Lecturer on Marketing and hotel operations at local and regional hotel schools.

PERSONAL:

David Hawley is married – he and his wife Kathy have lived in the Phoenix area for more than 15 years. They have two sons, one a U.S. Naval Academy Graduate now a Navy pilot, the other a computer technician in Seattle, WA. David’s wife teaches fourth grade in North Phoenix.  David's hobbies includes pencil art, reading, hiking and reading mysteries.
